Friday Five

1.  Rusty had a church meeting Monday night so I was on my own for dinner. I made pancakes. Yum! I topped them with a smearing of peanut butter, sliced bananas, and then a drizzle of pancake syrup. I know some people are maple syrup snobs, but I prefer plain old Aunt Jemima.

Yummy!
2.  Government shutdown. It sounds like I will be able to go to work and get paid, which is very important for my husband and I. But there are others in my building that would not be allowed to go to work if there was a shutdown. It's shameful.

3.  My good friend, Thelma, posted a hilarious story about her wee precious kitty called Lessons at Midnight. You should totally read it. It is as cute as it is funny.

4.  I missed writing down one of the hubby's doctor appointments. Whoopsie! Bad wifey.

5.  I was supposed to make my savory and delicious Shepherd's Pie for dinner last night. I was just beginning to take the ingredients out to start cooking when I noticed that I didn't have any potatoes. What?! I thought for sure that I had half a bag of yukon golds. Nada. Oh, I was so bummed. I'll have to pick some more up and make it tomorrow night. Rusty asked for pancakes instead.

  1. Pancakes for dinner TWICE in the same week!? Whoa! :D So, when you eat sweet breakfast food, do you also have to have something savory along side to balance out the sweet, or am the only one? I usually fry an egg or cook up some bacon. :yummy:

  2. We do like to have some bacon with it, but don't always. Bacon *drool*.
